As you know, fires are endemic to Northern California as well. The year my life blew up (tends to happen some times), a fire disrupted life in the sports oriented town where I had worked for many years. There were “spare the air” days in June (July and August are the norms). Maybe as you note, there is no solution but to consider the beauty of the smoke even as it hovers over the ashes of what was once your life.
