I was not writing about “cancer guilt”. I was expressing a different perspective on the whole “Black women gotta have good hair” thing. What about not having any hair because you are taking a medication that will save your life but not your locks or your eyebrows. I remember when Robin Roberts finally got rid of the wig she had been wearing and revealed herself in all of her bald health seeking glory on national television mind you in a dress designed by Isaac Mizrahi. Sharon Jones, before her untimely death, performed with her own beautiful bald head. So seriously, yes it can be traumatic to have nappy hair. And…
