Our current version of pop culture has no soul, no heart and absolutely no sense. I lost it a few weeks ago listening to an ad for “Purple Bricks” that seemed to imply that it was wrong to pay a real estate agent his or her full commission payment. Everything has to be gotten as a discount. Really. Owens is to be commended for taking up an honest profession, working in a grocery store. May it provide him with some insights for new ventures in entertainment, if he chooses to do so. That’s the thing: life is not always about entertainment — its always been about putting one foot in front of the other and moving hopefully forward.
