Really enjoyed your piece. What I noticed is that once schools stopped sponsoring scout troops, the opportunities for boys and girls to participate in scouting in many communities of color disappeared. Scouting organizations need to identify the resources and infrastructure that can bring these experiences to the children and communities that would benefit enormously by having youth focused organizations with national and international connections, i.e. something other than sports and athletics.
