Sick Kids?! Sick Kids? WTF!

According to Rachel Maddow and other news sources, the current regime has set its sights on forcing desperately ill children, children, out of their hospital beds and somewhere, anywhere, as long as they are outside of the United States, on the other side of the border. You know, just gone.

Rachel’s been on a tear about this for two days.

This program has existed for years. Think of it as a small down payment for some of our sins as a nation: you know being a nuclear power, being a major source of international pollution, being pretty indifferent to the impact of our just throwing our weight around as a nation state. We still have people imprisoned off shore in Cuba just because we can.

This is bad. This is so bad that I would like to extend a heartfelt request that some of our international allies (ok, former allies), please consider picking up some of the slack we are dropping here. I am sure that there are medical facilities in other countries that would be able to provide these children with the care they need. Take a sick kid and we’ll take a cool million or so off your foreign military aid tab. I think it’s a good plan. The children will get their medical care and their families will be able to be with them and Trump will have something of a victory.

And we will have a little more time to try to clean up the mess we’ve gotten ourself into.
